#### Education

California Institute of Technology - PhD in Materials ScienceCambridge University - M.Phil in Chemistry and Physics

Harvey Mudd College - Bachelor of Science. Graduated 4.0 Valedictorian.

I graduated valedictorian and 4.0 from Harvey Mudd College in engineering.

I subsequently received a Churchill Scholarship to go study at Cambridge Unversity for a year, where i received an M.Phil in chemistry and physics for my work in writing a computer program to implement the CalPhad method of phase diagram prediction.

After Cambridge I enrolled at Caltech and got my Masters of Science and PhD for my work measuring the vibrational entropy of metals and alloys through inelastic neutron scattering.

#### Experience

Reacting poorly to Chemistry?Deriving little joy from Calculus?

No momentum in Physics?

I CAN HELP. I have many years experience teaching and tutoring at the collegiate and high school levels. I was 4.0 at HMC and at the very top of my class at Caltech: I was the guy the other tutors went to for help.

I have extensive recent experience tutoring AP and university pre-calculus, calculus, chemistry, physics, statistics and linear algebra.

I am also available for writing tutoring, editing and revising. I can even help with poetry!

Fee negotiable depending on time and location.

#### Hobbies

Reading -- My favorite hobby since forever. Everything from fiction, self improvement, history and science. These days you can even read sans books for those who like to keep it light! Thanks Kindle. If you want an autobiographical philosophical thriller i recommend Persig's "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" Still a classic!

Dancing -- Exercise, music and socialization all wrapped up into one. I love lindyhop, west coast swing, blues, fusion and improvisational partner dancing of almost any sort.

Automotive Repair -- Your car is probably the most sophisticated engineering object you will ever own, and who doesnt love engineering!!!

Gas phase chemistry, mechanics, thermodynamics, continuous mass balance, steady state batch chemical processing, feedback control (mechanical AND electrical)....the science of a car is just stupendous! Whether you're repairing, maintaining, buying or just talking about your car it's so much fun!
